At 80% efficiency, divide 900 by 0.80 to get 1,125 cubic feet. This means the truck must provide more nominal cargo volume than the measured belongings volume.
Buffer is applied after efficiency adjustment. A 5% buffer multiplies 1,125 by 1.05, producing 1,181.25 cubic feet. The buffer handles inventory uncertainty, last-minute items, protective padding, and awkward shapes not represented in the original estimate. A bulky-item adjustment can also be added as a fixed cubic-foot amount if the user knows a piano, treadmill, large sectional, or equipment item needs extra clearance.
Truck fit is a ceiling calculation. Divide required truck volume by selected truck capacity. If the result is less than or equal to one, one trip fits.
